Protests and rallies are often dances between activists and law enforcement. This Saturday, you can gain the basic training to be a chaperone of these kinds of dances and be able to make sure police don’t cross the line or get too close for comfort when dealing with nonviolent protesters.---

Climate and social-justice activists of Peaceful Uprising are partnering with the National Lawyers Guild of Utah to host free legal-observer training this Saturday at the PeaceUp warehouse. Participants can come and learn how to spot when police violate the law in dealing with protesters and how to document evidence of such heavy-handed tactics in case activists need to mount lawsuits against law enforcement.

The event is free and open to the public. Check it out Saturday, July 7, from 1-3 p.m. at the PeaceUp Warehouse located at 1361 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City.
