Wine Wednesday: Summer Sipping @ Silver Fork

Posted By on June 20, 2012, 11:38 AM

Some of the most enjoyable wine dinners I've attended (and I've attended many) have been up Big Cottonwood Canyon at the scenic Silver Fork Lodge. --- The hospitality is always spot-on, the food and drink terrific and, best of all, these are not highfalutin, snobby wine dinners. They are informal, family-style affairs with abundant food, wine and camaraderie.

The next such wine-pairing dinner takes place at Silver Fork Lodge on Thursday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. It's $50 per person (plus tax and tip) for the dinner and wine pairings. If you're a designated driver or just don't feel like drinking wine, dinner alone is $25.

Menu items for the Summer Sipping Wine Pairing Dinner include grilled sugar-glazed pineapple with lime, watermelon-mint salad, grilled stuffed pork loin with basmati rice, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Tentative wine pairings include Codorniu Brut Anna de Codorniu; J Pinot Gris; A to Z Sangiovese Rose; and Pacific Rim Organic Riesling.

For reservations, call 888-649-9551.
