Dear GYA, It seems A&E has canceled my show. But don't you worry about ol' Dog the Bounty Hunter, I'll still be doin' what I do. You know, lookin' back, I've made some mistakes in my day. Haha, like this one time I pepper sprayed a guy, right? Well, turns out he was actually a chalupa ... that looked like a bad guy. Oh, man, I pepper sprayed him good, too.--- Oh well, looks like I got some free time now; anything happening today where I could pepper spray some people? - Dog the Bounty Hunter
Dog, you need to stop pepper spraying everyone and everything you come across. It's just not good for business. Here's what's going down today:
It's not a trap, but downtown's favorite art spot, Blonde Grizzly, will be debuting its Star Wars Group Show all day today -- 30 local artists take on the one of the world's most beloved sci-fi sagas. Check out cool depictions of your favorite characters; if there's a Jar Jar Binks painting, I call dibs.
Meat and Potato Theatre Company will be debuting the show you've been waiting for your entire life, Aliens: The Puppet Musical tonight at Rose Wagner Center. Yes, James Cameron's 1986 film Aliens has finally gotten the puppet treatment. The big question is, how is a puppet alien going to pop out of that guy's stomach? I'm dying to know.
Pop-folk duo Civil Wars will be performing at The Depot tonight at 9 p.m. The crooning couple have seen a lot of praise since their last album Barton Hallow,%uFFFDwhich earned them the two Grammys last January. Check 'em out below:
Other worthwhile events happening today:
- Geeks Who Drink pub trivia at Lumpy's Downtown, starting at 8 p.m.
- An Evening With Abbie Griffin lecture will be going down at the U, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- Author Robert V. Taylor will be signing and reading from his new book A New Way of Being Human tonight at Weller Book Works.
