Jung Society of Utah: How to Become a Transformational Leader
The winner of City Weekly’s Best Soul-Stirring Discussions brings another free lecture this Thursday. Modern leadership demands an ability to adapt one's style to achieve the maximum effectiveness. Rather than using one's own preferred style, excellent leaders are able to take different approaches to suit the multi-faceted needs of various situations. Using an adaptation of Jung's personality type model, Dr. Grandstaff will show folks how a successful transformational leader develops flexibility and adaptability through their eight personality functions and attitudes in order to meet the differing demands of organizational situations. Books & Authors
John Sclazi: Fuzzy Nation
New York Times bestselling science fiction author John Scalzi is publishing FUZZY NATION (A Tor Hardcover, $24.99), a brand new alien adventure tale. Except it’s not really brand new; FUZZY NATION is actually a reboot of the Hugo-nominated 1962 novel Little Fuzzy , written by H. Beam Piper, authorized by Piper’s estate. Starting with the same characters and basic problem of Little Fuzzy , Scalzi has created an entirely new novel that still respects the original source material. John Scalzi has won the Hugo Award, the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award (science fiction category), and several international awards. He also writes non-fiction, on subjects ranging from personal finance to astronomy to film.
