Lounge Act Tuesday: Tunes, talks and free flicks

Posted By on February 15, 2011, 10:11 AM

An eclectic array of options on this spring-like Tuesday, for your perusal.---

On the music tip, you'll have a hard time beating the Best Coast (pictured), Wavves, No Joy show tonight at The Urban Lounge. The triple-bill of alt-pop has a distinctly summery flavor, so consider it an ideal capper to what's looking like another surprisingly warm day.

Down Provo way, author David Norton will speak about The English Word at a forum at the school's Marriott Center. Norton's first book, A History of the Bible as Literature, won the Conference on Christian Literature Book of the Year Award in 1994 for the work which "has contributed most to the dialogue between literature and the Christian faith."It's free, but it's also early, starting at 11 a.m.

Finally, the Salt Lake Film Center is hosting a free 7 p.m. screening of Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould, a documentary about the world-renowned pianist that was short-listed for a best-doc Oscar in 2010. The screening is at the Main Library.
