8 Lusty Places to Dine on Valentine's Day

At Pago, chefs Scott Evans and Michael Richey are cooking up a special Valentine’s Day menu --- offering a fixed price three-course menu for $50 per person, plus tax and 18% gratuity. Suggested wine and beer pairings are available separately. Starters include scallop ceviche, caviar pillows and foie gras torchon, and for main dishes items such as roasted Maple Leaf Farms duck breast, Niman Ranch New York steak, halibut cheeks and Christiansen Farms pork chops will be available.

Liberty Heights Fresh can meet all your Valentine’s Day needs, from a dozen red roses to a complete dinner for two, available for pickup February 12-14. The Valentine’s dinner for two is priced at $149.00 or $159.00 with a dozen roses and includes a hand-tied flower bouquet, cheese course, main courses of seared Chateaubriand for two or poulet rouge roasted with truffle butter; a side dish of blanched and sautéed organic rainbow carrots with organic thyme; watercress salad with preserved lemon; and a mini chocolate cake with cherry compote for dessert.

Chef Will Pliler at the New Yorker is featuring a three-course prix fixe dinner available Feb. 12-14 for $32 per person. Valentine’s Dinner at the New Yorker includes a choice of Caesar salad, Roma tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad, or crab-stuffed portabello mushroom for starters. Entrees include chicken piccata, filet of Atlantic salmon a la nage, and a 6-ounce filet mignon with asparagus and Dungeness crab béarnaise sauce.

On Sunday, Valentine’s Day, Meditrina Small Plate and Wine Bar will be serving a romantic, decadent menu, created especially for a Celebration of Amour. Experience restaurateurs Jen Gilroy and Amy Britt's palate for passion with an affordable, specially priced, Valentine's menu which allows you to mix and match to the heart's desire. Every course at Meditrina is available matched with a fantastic wine pairing to complement each dish.

Bambara will be celebrating the mystery of romance with special menu offerings on Valentine’s Day weekend.  Diners are urged to reserve early for a special menu that will encourage guests to pamper themselves and rediscover romance.  Bambara will be open from 5:30 p.m. with selections from the dinner menu complemented by a special Sweethearts’ Menu designed for sharing.  Guests can order a la carte from the special menu to go with their favorite courses from the nightly offerings Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14.

At Francks, Executive Chef Franck Peissel is offering a five-course Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, February 13th for his ode to Valentine's Day. The menu highlights Franck's love affair with food -- French at heart, but with modern American culinary trends and fresh local ingredients. Reservations are highly recommended. The charge for adults is $46.95. Beverages are not included in this pricing. Dishes include chilled lobster salad; banana and nori soup; pan-seared scallops with creme fraíche; braised short ribs with foie gras sauce.

The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant in Midway will feature two specials on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, in addition to its gourmet winter menu. Valentine’s Day specials will include a wagyu ribeye steak served with a twice baked potato and mixed seafood on saffron risotto. The Blue Boar’s winter menu includes a braised buffalo osso buco with caramelized Brussels sprouts, celery root puree and an herbed demi glace, as well as grilled filet mignon and chicken scaloppini made with orzo pasta, Brussels sprouts and a pink peppercorn and grapefruit sauce.

On Feb. 13 & 14 Log Haven will celebrate Valentine’s weekend with Valentine’s specials in addition to their regular menu. Special V-Day menu items include sesame tempura prawns with ginger-yuzu slaw; Sweetwater and Kumamoto oysters; langoustine Winter Harvest “Pot Pie”; grilled veal chop with Gorgonzola, smoked prosciutto vol au vent, butternut squash puree and plum-balsamic syrup. For dessert there’s chocolate shortbread, strawberry gelee wild strawberries, brandied creme anglaise.
