Its been a while, but now that the holidays are over and venues are back up and kicking at full speed, its time for more local release shows to happen, which is always a good thing because it means more new music from our scene. --- Michael Gross & The Statuettes kicked off that trend last week with their new EP, Impulse & Exports, which I highly recommend. But let's move onto this week, kicking things off will be the sophomore release from Funk Fu! The hip-hop funk group have been a fixture of Joe's for years now and have never failed to disappoint in a live showing. Now following up their first EP they've got a new 14 track album, appropriately titled Long Time Comin'. Helping them celebrate in style tonight will be Blindfold 801 and King Tree. Show starts at 7PM for just $5.

Then tomorrow night make your way up to Ogden, as acoustical group A Different Element release their debut album at Mojo's. The trio formed during the spring last year and have been pushing hard around northern Utah to perfect their works at the venues and coffee shops to eventually put out an album. Unfortunately for us, that's all the info we have besides the possible cover they made, not even a title or track listing. So if you're up for an adventure, head up and give it a shot. Backing them up will be our old friends Matt Ben Jackson. Just $6 at the door which gets you a free copy of the album. Show kicks off 8PM.
