West Valley Reproductive Health Townhall Meeting Tonight!

Posted By on October 19, 2009, 9:12 AM

The battle for the truth about the birds and the bees is heating up in the legislative pre-season and tonight is a great chance to learn about a comprehensive sex-ed bill that will be presented in the 2010 Legislature by rep. Lynn Hemingway, D-Holladay.---

The bill is actually a compromise bill that won’t do away with our quaint system now that only teaches students about abstinence when it comes to reproductive health, instead Hemingway’s bill will allow for a two-track curriculum. Parents can choose to allow their students to continue following the current sex-ed lite curriculum or they can take part in a more comprehensive one that includes education on the subject of contraceptives. It’s a revolutionary idea for certain and one that will be discussed tonight, Oct. 19 at the West Valley Library, at 2880 W. 3650 South, starting at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
