a brief moment, please think back and recall to yourself, when was
the last time you ever got a free demo? --- Can't really think of one,
can you? And if you can, the last time you got one before that
probably feels like a distant memory. The days of cassette recordings
and even burned CD's being handed out from the trunk of a car after a
gig (or just randomly in front of a store) seem to be long gone as
people have gotten into the habit of saying “oh yeah, check out our
MySpace page.” But this weekend the old tradition becomes renewed,
even if for one night only.
The piano-rock group of Josh & The Dream Killer will be performing live tonight at 5 Monkeys in Murray, with the promise of giving away free demos to all! ...Well, probably at least until they run out. And backing them up for this show will be the Simpsons homaging punkers Johnny Tightlips, and the ever awesome folk-rockers Michael Gross & The Statuettes. And what's this show going to cost you? Five bucks. Yeah, that's it! Three awesome bands and a free demo. Why would you sit at home with an offer like that, unless you're a lifeless shut-in, which is still inexcusable.
