Dear GYA, As a seasoned bluegrass fan, I take live shows pretty seriously. That's why before heading out for a night of hootin' and hollerin,' I always take the time to warm up my stompin' foot. Basically I just kick a stump in the backyard for a half hour and then rub it with essential oils. It's important. Anything happening tonight once I'm my foot is good and ready? - Jeremiah Broner, Salt Lake City

Jeremiah, warming up with a swift kick to a stump is the best way to get ready for any show. Here's some good options for tonight:

Michigan-based country/grass band Greensky Bluegrass will be at The Depot this evening. Dead Winter Carpenters will warm it up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $19.

Afrobeat/jazz-fusion group Beats Antique will be at The Complex tonight. Lafa Taylor, Emancipator and Shpongle are also on the bill. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35.

Megafauna will be at Urban Lounge tonight. Starmy, Baby Ghosts and Pleasure Thieves are also performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free!
