Supernatural (The CW) Season Premiere: Sam & Dean kick off Season 9 in yet another new timeslot—when’s The CW going to give up on trying to kill Supernatural? You can’t take down the last survivor of The WB Network, suckas! ---
If you’re not inclined to catch up on eight prior seasons in a few hours, here’s all you need to know: The world’s (literally) going to Hell in a handbasket, and only demon-fighting Winchester brothers Dean (the square-jawed one) and Sam (the girly-haired one) can stop it … or at least delay it until next season. With the occasional assist from Castiel (who’s an angel—or was, anyway) and Bobby (who’s dead), they take on the King of Hell (played to sleazy perfection by all-purpose bad-guy actor Mark Sheppard) and sometimes even come out on top … briefly. As S9 opens, even angels are gunning for Sam & Dean, whose quest to close the gates of Hell will likely be put off for at least 20 more episodes. Catch up, already.
